About us
Our main mission is to organise short courses in music, dance and theatre for everyone – regardless of disability or previous knowledge. Everyone should be entitled to participation in courses of high artistic quality.
The uniqueness of Share Music Sweden
The mixture of different art forms and people with varying abilities is the unique thing. The creative process is always based on the experience of the participants.

Courses
The offer of courses is comprehensive: from taster days and introduction courses to general, intermediate and advanced levels. Most of the courses are folk high school courses. The course directors are professionally active, creative artists.
Share Music Sweden’s course programme is at present offered in northern, southern and western Sweden. Other activities are also organised in other parts of the country.
Other activities
Participation in exhibitions, conferences and education days is another important part of our activities. Numerous contacts and cooperation projects are created – nationally and internationally, involving schools, organisations, specialists and all kinds of people active in the cultural sphere.

Organisation
Share Music was originally created in Northern Ireland in 1985 by the physician Michael Swallow. Share Music Sweden has been in operation in this country since 2002, the year of the first course.
Share Music Sweden is a non-profit, national association independent of party policy, religion and trade unions. The organisation is supported by Region Västra Götaland and The Swedish Inheritance Fund among others. Single courses may be financed by cooperation partners, county councils in question, regions and other interested parties..
