Could you tell us a little about yourself and what motivates you in your role on the board of ShareMusic & Performing Arts?

I have worked in leadership, business development, project management and entrepreneurship for most of my professional life. For many years, I have held senior roles in the culture and experiences sector, where I have worked on everything from business development and event production to training and strategic projects.

What attracted me to ShareMusic & Performing Arts is the organisation’s strong focus on inclusion, creativity and people’s opportunities to develop and express themselves on their own terms. I believe that the most exciting ideas and the most important encounters often arise when people with different experiences, perspectives and backgrounds are given the opportunity to come together. Being able to contribute to this development feels both meaningful and inspiring.

ShareMusic is a national centre of expertise for artistic development and inclusion. What role do you think the centre plays – and what significance might it have in the future?

I see ShareMusic & Performing Arts as a vital meeting place and repository of knowledge, where art, creativity and inclusion can develop together. By gathering experiences, challenging established perspectives and forging new collaborations, the organisation contributes not only to artistic development, but also to a more open and inclusive society.

I believe this role will become even more important in the future. At a time when society is changing rapidly, we need initiatives that can build bridges between people, experiences and skills. In this regard, ShareMusic has a unique opportunity to continue to be a role model and a driving force for development, participation and innovation
