Why is ShareMusic’s work important?

– There are many reasons to engage in music-making: for one’s own pleasure in the moment; as an enduring, enriching amateur pastime; for the benefit of others; to create a meaningful and lasting artefact. ShareMusic renders all of these levels of music-making accessible. It creates a truly inclusive experience by giving participants the opportunity to practice, create and perform alongside professionals in music and the performing arts. By supporting innovative technological applications and the design of new interfaces and instruments, it creates new possibilities for engagement in these workshops and significantly impacts inclusive performance as a whole. By presenting highly acclaimed productions internationally, it actively demonstrates the excellence that can be achieved through inclusivity.
